A bonded warehouse is a secure facility authorized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) where imported goods can be stored without payment of duties or taxes. Duties are only paid when goods are withdrawn for consumption in the US, or waived entirely if goods are re-exported.
Goods can be stored in a bonded warehouse for up to 5 years. This gives you flexibility to time your market entry, wait for favorable conditions, or hold inventory until your customers need it.
Both allow duty deferral, but FTZ offers more flexibility. In an FTZ, there's no time limit on storage and you can perform more value-added operations like kitting, assembly, and manufacturing. Bonded warehouses have a 5-year limit and more restrictions on manipulation. We offer both options.
Yes. If goods stored in our bonded warehouse are exported to another country (like Mexico), no US duties are owed. This makes bonded warehousing ideal for goods destined for Mexican manufacturing or distribution.
Most commercial goods can be stored in a bonded warehouse, including raw materials, components, finished goods, and merchandise. We handle plastics, auto parts, electronics, mechanical components, and more. We also have cold storage with frozen temperatures down to 0°F. Some restricted items may require special permits.
Most clients are operational within a few days to a week. We'll set you up in our system, provide shipping instructions, and coordinate with your other supply chain partners. No lengthy government approval process on your end.
